the full story
I have always been a natural caretaker of sorts, for as long as I can remember. My family dubbed me “Nurse Danielle” at the young age of 9 when my great aunt Dot had a knee replacement and was staying with my grandmother while she recovered - I distinctly remember an almost primal instinct taking over when I would visit, driving me to act as such. This love of serving and providing care for others is what ultimately led me to pursue Radiologic Technology in college. I graduated from Indiana University Purdue University Fort Wayne at the top of my class in 2005, and continued my education and expansion of my successful career in radiology through additional board certifications. I spent a majority of my career in radiology in the CT and MRI departments and loved what I did professionally, but there always felt like there was ‘more’ to health, and life for that matter, than what I was able to provide to my patients in a hospital setting…
The universe really decided that I was meant to pursue my passion for greater health by handing me cards that I never saw coming. In 2012, my dad passed away from cancer and then 8 short years later in 2020 (after a 5 year battle), my mom passed away from a form of early onset dementia. Watching two of the people I loved the most suffer through such awful fates, is really what turned the tides for me driving what was a passion of pursing optimal health and wellness into a career change - helping others achieve this pursuit as well.
I have spent the last 10+ years reading, listening, and studying what true health and wellness looks like (SPOILER ALERT: There is no one size fits all here). I graduated from the Functional Medicine Coaching Academy in August of 2023 with my Functional Medicine Health Coaching Certification and became a National Board Certified Health & Wellness Coach after passing my boards in April of 2024. I am so excited and honored to walk alongside those who are looking to take their health into their own hands and get rooted in wellness.
Outside of Rooted Wellness, you will usually find me on the sidelines of a volleyball court or a lacrosse field cheering for my kids and their teams! My husband, Patrick, and I have been married for nearly 20 years, we have 2 amazing kids and 2 spoiled black labs (but we love them anyway)! We love to try new foods as a family and enjoy traveling the world together!

I can't wait to get to know you!
